I just received a set of Allballs tapered steering stem bearings that I ordered from BikeBandit. Huck, you put a set of these in yours didn't you? I haven't checked the instructions yet, nor have I got the steering stem off yet (that is the next step), but do you have any hints? I am curious to see what the old ball bearings and races look like because the steering head sticks in the forward position. Also bought a set of Progressive springs to put in the forks while I am replacing the fork seals.

I did put a set in mine...I had a little trouble with the "Seal" they had in the kit, just make sure you get the right amount of the shims (washers) in it when you put it back together....but it is a pretty straight forward install.

Hi,
I bought some bearings also. Do the old races come out very easy. Can you use the old seal if the don't send new ones, or who has new seals? Any help would be appreciated.

My old races came out pretty easy. Used a chunk of steel round bar and carefully worked my way around the race tapping on it. Did you buy tapered roller bearings or stock ones? The old seal fits onto the stock bearing and probably won't work on the new tapered bearing.
